Slip, slip, knit (ssk) - Left Slanting Decrease

This is usually the second decrease that one learns in knitting - it is a mirror to the right-slanting decrease of k2tog. It is the most common left-slanting decrease.

Pattern Abbreviation:  ssk

To work knitwise:

Step 1:  Slip the next 2 sts, one at a time, as if to knit.

You will have 2 twisted stitches on the right hand needle that you haven't worked.

Step 2: Insert the left hand needle into the fronts of these two stitches.

Step 3: Knit these stitches together.  One stitch is decreased: two stitches make one.
