Joining More Than one Strip to Create a Fabric

A typical garment or blanket will require more than one strip to be joined to form the fabric.  When joining more than 2 strips, you need to be aware of the diagonal structure of hairpin lace fabric:  it can become exaggerated when joined if precautions are not taken.  In order to prevent fabric distortion, you need to alternate the braid order when  picking up the first loop.

For Example:

  1. Join strips #1 and #2 by starting with the first loop on Strip #1.
  2. Join strips #2 and #3 by starting with the first loop on Strip #3.
  3. Join strips #3 and #4 by starting with the first loop on Strip #3.
  4. Join strips #4 and #5 by starting with the first loop on Strip #5.
  5. Join strips #5 and #6 by starting with the first loop on Strip #5.
