No-Turn Lucet Cord

In addition to the standard turning method, the No-Turn Method of making Lucet cord is one of the most basic ways to create Lucet cording.

If you don't like the turning method, try this approach of creating Lucet cording to create a cord of similar appearance.

One of the most important reasons to learn how to make the No-Turn cord, however, is that you need to be familiar with this technique of creating cording to create more intricate cording later on.

Step 1:  Start this cord as shown. The starting tail of the yarn is pushed down through the hole and it helps to wind the working yarn a few times around your pinkie to get good tension. Experiment with how many times to wrap and which finger to wrap in order to get a tension that works for you best.

Step 2:  Grab the strand that is lowest on the right prong and pull it out over top of the prong to the back as shown.

Step 3:  Pull the working yarn snug (but not too tight!) to the back of the lucet....

Step 4:  Then bring the yarn from the back around the front to the back of the left prong.

Step 5:  Grab the lower strand from the FRONT and bring over the top strand and also over the top of the left prong and pull yarn snugly (again - NOT too tight!) to the back.

Step 6:  Bring working yarn through prongs and around front to back of the right prong.

Step 7:  Grab the lower strand from the BACK and bring over the top strand and also over the top of the right prong.  Pull yarn snugly (again - NOT too tight!) to the back.

Step 8:  Repeat steps 3 through 7 until your desired length is reached.
