Working into Groups of Loops
When creating hairpin lace fabrics, you may work into a single loop at a time or into groups of loops as indicated by your preference or pattern you are following. The longer your loops (wider your strip), the more loops you can work at any given time without causing the fabric to excessively pucker. You can work into groups of loops by keeping the loops twisted or untwisted (see Twisting the Loops for a discussion of working single loops at a time).

Untwisted Loop Group Insert the crochet hook into the front of the number of loops desired and work ch, sc or other stitch indicated by the pattern. If using guide lines you will be inserting the hook into the thread of the loop that is in front of the guide line. |

Twisted Loop Group Insert the crochet hook into the back of the number of loops desired and work ch, sc or other stitch indicated by the pattern. If using guide lines you will be inserting the hook into the thread of the loop that is in back of the guide line. |
